Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and complex for a vodka, with toasted bread, fresh cream, and subtle floral notes. The copper still influence is evident in the rounded warmth.

Palate

Silky and full-bodied at 42.3%, with a creamy wheat sweetness, gentle spice, and a clean, mineral quality. The vintage copper still from 1929 imparts a warmth and richness that column stills cannot replicate.

Finish

Long and satisfying with lingering cream, gentle warmth, and a clean mineral close.

Expert Review

8/10

Absolut Elyx is what happens when the world's most famous vodka brand decides to make something truly special. Distilled in small batches using a vintage 1929 copper rectification still and single-estate wheat, it is a vodka of genuine luxury. At 42.3% ABV, it has presence and depth that standard Absolut cannot match.

Kwame Mensah VIPsAllowed — Absolut Elyx — Copper-Distilled Swedish Luxury is outstanding

The nose on this is lovely — I immediately got fresh cream and subtle floral notes. On the palate, the Silky and full-bodied at 42 is beautifully done, and the a clean mineral close. I agree with the editorial review — this is a seriously impressive vodka. Tried it neat at room temperature first, then chilled from the freezer. Both excellent, but neat at room temp shows off the character better.

Third bottle in and it just gets better. The nose opens with The copper still influence is evident in the rounded warmth — I also picked up Rich and complex for a vodka that the review mentions. On the palate, with a creamy wheat sweetness is spot on, and there's a mineral quality that makes this incredibly smooth. The finish closes with gentle warmth. This has become my go-to. Makes an incredible Martini too.
