Tasting Notes

Nose

Remarkably complex for a vodka, with toasted bread, subtle spice from the rye, and a nutty richness from the spelt. Fresh and inviting.

Palate

Velvety smooth with a wonderful interplay of grain characters — spelt brings nuttiness, rye adds peppery spice, and winter wheat provides silky sweetness. Beautifully layered.

Finish

Long and satisfying with a gentle spicy warmth and lingering toasted grain notes.

9/10

Konik's Tail is one of the finest vodkas you can buy at any price. The triple-grain recipe — spelt, rye, and early winter wheat — creates a spirit of extraordinary complexity and character. Named after the wild ponies of Poland's primeval forest, this is genuinely wild and untamed stuff.

It's a solid vodka. The nose has Remarkably complex for a vodka and a nutty richness from the spelt, but on the palate the rye adds peppery spice doesn't quite deliver the complexity I was hoping for. The finish is a bit brief. Still enjoyable though — I keep reaching for it when making cocktails rather than sipping neat.

One of the most well-crafted vodkas I've tasted. The subtle spice from the rye promises quality, and the palate delivers with winter wheat provides silky sweetness. Nothing feels harsh or out of place. The finish ties it all together. I tried it neat, chilled, and in a Moscow Mule — it shines in all three. The spelt, rye & winter wheat base gives it a distinctive character. Can't recommend it highly enough.
