Production
French soft winter wheat — the same type of grain that contributes to Grey Goose's character, though from different growing regions — is fermented and quadruple-distilled. The extra ABV means that less water dilution is required post-distillation, preserving a greater concentration of the wheat's natural flavour compounds. Charcoal filtration is applied with a light hand, smoothing without stripping.
Tasting Notes
The nose is soft and inviting — winter wheat, creamy vanilla, gentle white pepper, and a hint of citrus peel. On the palate, the vodka is full-bodied and smooth, with pronounced wheat sweetness, vanilla cream, and a warming spice that builds gently. The higher ABV is immediately apparent in the excellent palate weight — this is a vodka with substance. The finish is medium-long, warm and creamy with lingering wheat and white pepper.
The Serve
The higher ABV makes Tried and True an excellent Martini vodka — it holds its character when combined with dry vermouth rather than dissolving into anonymity. It also performs well neat over a single large ice cube, where the slow dilution gradually reveals the wheat's sweeter notes.
