Tasting Notes

Nose

Sweet pomegranate jam with a candied berry quality. Light and uncomplicated, with minimal grain presence.

Palate

Soft and sweet, with pronounced pomegranate fruitiness and a gentle tartness that prevents it from becoming cloying. The lower ABV makes it very approachable.

Finish

Short and sweet, with a clean pomegranate fade.

Three Olives have carved out a niche in the flavoured vodka market with their range of fruit-forward spirit drinks, and the Pomegranate edition is among their more popular offerings. At 35% ABV, this sits in spirit-drink territory rather than full-strength vodka, and that lower alcohol content shapes the overall experience considerably.

The nose offers sweet pomegranate jam and candied berry, with very little grain presence discernible underneath. This is unashamedly a flavoured product, and it makes no attempt to disguise the fact. On the palate, the pomegranate sweetness is pronounced but tempered by a gentle tartness that keeps things just about balanced.

The litre bottle format represents reasonable value, and this is best understood as a cocktail ingredient rather than a sipping spirit. It works well in a Cosmopolitan riff or simply lengthened with soda and a squeeze of lime. Not a spirit for the purist, but an effective mixer that delivers exactly what it promises.

One of the most well-crafted vodkas I've tasted. The with minimal grain presence promises quality, and the palate delivers with Soft and sweet. Nothing feels harsh or out of place. The Short and sweet ties it all together. I tried it neat, chilled, and in a Moscow Mule — it shines in all three. The english grain base gives it a distinctive character. Can't recommend it highly enough.

As someone who's been appreciating quality vodka for years, this is among the finest I've encountered at this price point. On the nose I get with minimal grain presence — let it warm slightly in the glass and the aromas open up. The palate is where it really shines: Soft and sweet with The lower ABV makes it very approachable. Three Olives Distillery has clearly mastered their craft.
