Grey Goose
Plain 40% ABV ABV Grey Goose / BacardiA real discovery from an unexpected region
I'd never tried anything from this distillery before and I'm genuinely impressed. Beautiful clarity in the glass, complex aromas of fresh herbs and mineral water, and a palate with wonderful weight and a long, clean finish. There's a subtle earthiness that gives it real personality.
Beautifully balanced and versatile
What strikes me most is the balance. It's clean enough for a classic Martini but has enough body and character to sip neat. Lovely soft texture, hints of anise and white chocolate on the nose, and a palate that's both silky and precise. Equally at home in a cocktail bar or a quiet evening at home.
Expected more
Not terrible but not worth the premium. The nose promised Clean and subtle with soft citrus and some depth, but the palate is flat and the clean and smooth with a gentle peppery warmth disappears too quickly. I've had better vodkas at half the price. The Silky smooth mouthfeel with gentle wheat sweetness the review describes wasn't apparent to me. Perhaps I got a bad bottle.
Blown away by this vodka
Bought this on the strength of the review here and I'm so glad I did. The almond sweetness on the nose are subtle but present, and the palate delivers — Silky smooth mouthfeel with gentle wheat sweetness with wonderful texture. The finish has Medium that proves vodka is far from flavourless. Hats off to Grey Goose / Bacardi — this is exceptional craft. Already on my second bottle.
Grey Goose is outstanding
The nose on this is lovely — I immediately got white pepper and subtle complexity. On the palate, the Silky smooth mouthfeel with gentle wheat sweetness is beautifully done, and the clean and smooth with a gentle peppery warmth. I agree with the editorial review — this is a seriously impressive vodka. Tried it neat at room temperature first, then chilled from the freezer. Both excellent, but neat at room temp shows off the character better.
Exceptional smoothness
As someone who's been appreciating quality vodka for years, this is among the finest I've encountered at this price point. On the nose I get almond sweetness — let it warm slightly in the glass and the aromas open up. The palate is where it really shines: light citrus with star anise. Grey Goose / Bacardi has clearly mastered their craft.

Not for me
I wanted to like this more than I did. The nose has Clean and subtle with soft citrus but on the palate there's a harshness that I wasn't expecting from the review. The light citrus described didn't come through for me. The Medium has a burn where I wanted clean warmth. Others clearly rate it highly so it may be personal preference. Won't be buying another bottle though.

Pleasant enough
I can see why people rate this but it's not quite my favourite. The Clean and subtle with soft citrus is clean — really approachable — but the palate is a touch too neutral for my preferences. The light citrus is smooth and easy, which makes it good for vodka newcomers. I was expecting a bit more character given the editorial score.

Stunning quality
What a beautifully crafted spirit. The nose gives you almond sweetness and lovely character, and on the palate it's all about light citrus. The mouthfeel is particularly impressive — silky, full, and rewarding. The finish rounds everything off with Medium. Anyone who says all vodka tastes the same hasn't tried this. The review here nails it.
Nice but slightly overpriced
Good quality spirit but slightly overpriced for what it is. The Clean and subtle with soft citrus is the highlight — white pepper and well-presented. On the palate, the star anise is fine but not exciting. At $30, I'd expect more character. The clean and smooth with a gentle peppery warmth is pleasant but brief. A reliable mixer.
A real gem
Picked this up after reading the review here and it's everything they said and more. The almond sweetness drew me in from the first pour. On the palate, star anise are elegant rather than aggressive — exactly what you want from a quality vodka. The Medium is clean and inviting. Makes a brilliant Martini and equally good sipped neat. This will be a permanent fixture on my shelf.
Solid middle-of-the-road
It's a solid vodka. The nose has Clean and subtle with soft citrus and white pepper, but on the palate the star anise doesn't quite deliver the complexity I was hoping for. The Medium is a bit brief. Still enjoyable though — I keep reaching for it when making cocktails rather than sipping neat.
Worth every penny
I was reading the tasting notes in the review and thought they sounded too good to be true for a vodka, but they're accurate. The white pepper is genuinely there, the star anise delivers, and the clean and smooth with a gentle peppery warmth is exactly as described. Served this at a tasting with friends last weekend — everyone was surprised how much character it has. We did a blind comparison against two other brands and this won hands down.
A standout bottle
Tried this side by side with several competitors at a tasting and it stands head and shoulders above them. The nose gives you white pepper — it's immediately apparent this is quality. Then the palate opens up with star anise and the wheat character shines through. The clean and smooth with a gentle peppery warmth. I've already ordered another bottle. Excellent work from Grey Goose / Bacardi.

Simply brilliant
I keep coming back to this bottle and appreciating the subtlety. The white pepper on the nose is genuinely there if you take a moment to notice. On the palate, Very well-balanced is rich and satisfying, with star anise developing. A vodka that rewards attention. At 40% ABV, the proof is perfectly judged.

My new favourite vodka
Third bottle in and it just gets better. The nose opens with almond sweetness — I also picked up delicate notes that the review mentions. On the palate, Very well-balanced is spot on, and there's a star anise that makes this incredibly smooth. The finish closes with clean and smooth with a gentle peppery warmth. This has become my go-to. Makes an incredible Martini too.
