At 10% ABV, the vodka content is minimal — this is essentially an energy shot with a mild alcoholic component. The nose is sweet and tropical, with the distinctive aroma of caffeine and guarana. The palate is sweet, fizzy, and vaguely fruity, with the vodka barely registering.
There is genuinely nothing to analyse here from a spirits perspective. Flugel exists for a specific purpose — quick, cheap, caffeinated fun — and it fulfils that purpose adequately. The tiny bottle format is clever marketing, creating an inherently shareable, social drinking experience.
At £1.50, it is priced as an impulse purchase, which is exactly what it is. We are including it here for completeness rather than recommendation, but if you find yourself at a house party with a box of these, you will have a perfectly adequate time.
